A Grandchild's Promise

A peaceful and quiet environment with a breeze touches my skin. A day so silent after waking up from a midnight sleep and starting my day with a spin. A person I deeply appreciate and love from within. Oh, how could I repay and give you everything? My grandmother, who looked after me, seeing her grow frightens me. In a town in Ilocos, I am happy to stay here no matter what it costs. A person I respect remains here, I will repay her and gladly give my share. I don't have much, and I am aware, but working hard pays off I assure. One day, when I get everything I desire, I will come back and give her things she wants to acquire.

As I watch the sun set over the horizon, painting the sky in hues of orange and pink, I am filled with a sense of peace and gratitude. I think about the sacrifices my grandmother has made for me, the love she has showered upon me, and the lessons she has imparted. I am determined to make her proud, to show her that her efforts have not been in vain.
